TSI AND TRIMBLE PARTNER TO PROVIDE MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING (MEP) INDUSTRY WITH LEADING EDGE SOLUTION
TO BOOST PROFITABILITY AND PRODUCTIVITY

AUSTIN, TX – January 22, 2008 – Technical Sales International, LLC (TSI), a distributor of technology solutions for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing industry, today announced it will become a distributor of Trimble® MEP software and Trimble SPS610 Robotic Total Stations for the mechanical and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) trades.

TSI has developed software called JOB-Site Solutions that is specifically designed to take advantage of the Trimble MEP software and the Trimble SPS610 Robotic Total Station. The Trimble MEP is a new software solution designed specifically for mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractors. Using Trimble MEP with the Trimble SPS610, contractors can take a digital CAD design file or 3D Building Information Model (BIM) into the field to simplify the layout of conduit, pipe, duct and cable trays. The Trimble MEP solution increases the contractor’s productivity by reducing rework by facilitating faster, easier and more accurate layout. The Trimble MEP layout solution, combined with the power of TSI’s CAD systems and the new JOB-Site generated digital blueprints, enable one person to handle all placement tasks with unmatched accuracy and efficiency.  This technological leap eliminates the need for traditional measurement techniques on the job site, saving time and reducing costly errors.

TSI’s CAD systems (CAD-MEP, CAD-Duct and CAD-Mech) provide rich, accurate data content for locating items that pass from floor to floor and for items that hang from the underside of a floor such as pipe, duct, and electrical hangers. TSI’s solutions are designed for commercial, institutional and industrial construction projects that automatically produce 3D hangers and reports for estimating, purchasing and pre-fabrication of hanger assemblies.

JOB-Site is an innovative option available to current and new users of TSI’s CAD-Duct and CAD-Mech products that enables the user to deliver exact location, size and description of items to be installed in the field.   JOB-Site transfers CAD data wirelessly to the Trimble MEP hand held device that works in conjunction with the Trimble SPS610 Robotic total station.

“TSI is a distributor of Trimble’s MEP product. Working with Trimble to distribute its positioning products and having these products work seamlessly with our new JOB-Site Solutions was the natural next step for taking Building Information Modeling (BIM) from CAD to the field,” said Jim Reis, a partner at TSI. “JOB-Site is a completely integrated solution, offering MEP construction companies a way to streamline their efforts and reduce errors, saving time and money.”
